Clinical & Classroom Teaching

Teaching & the Samuelson Clinic

As Faculty Director of the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic, Professor Crump trains law students to work on the front lines of technology and civil-liberties law.

Clinic students take on real cases and projects — litigating surveillance and privacy issues, advising public-interest clients, drafting policy, and producing research that informs courts, legislatures, and the public. The clinic gives students hands-on experience while advancing the public interest in a fair and accountable use of technology.

Representative clinic work

  • Policy and litigation on police body cameras and dashcams
  • Reports on the electronic monitoring of youth in the justice system
  • Advocacy for democratic oversight of police surveillance technology
  • Amicus and scholarly work on Fourth Amendment and digital privacy
